IPA RESOURCES

The International Phonetic Alphabet should be a familiar tool for intermediate and advanced students, but can prove useful for beginning students to see the disconnect between letters and sounds.

Many dictionaries use the APN which is based on IPA. It only has some slight differences, but the best guide is for students to be familiar with their preferred resource.

The color vowel chart is a tremendously useful tool. Though free versions can still be found, it has been increasingly moved behind paywalls.
